B.U.O.Y. - Business Understanding & Ownership for Youth
“Promoting informed, responsible business ownership education for young entrepreneurs.”
Monroeville Main Street/ Anne Marie Bryan, Executive Director, the Small Business Development Center of Alabama(SBDC)/Yolanda Johnson, Business Advisor, and Main Street Alabama/Mary Helmer Wirth, President and State Coordinator have partnered to create B.U.O.Y. – a FREE Rural Youth Entrepreneur Program.
Working Schedule

Meeting Times: Mondays - 5:30 pm-7:00pm (Expo will be on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 – Time to be announced)
Monday, October 11, 2021- Team building, elevator speech /pitch then plan, business plan introduction, demographics and market assessment & workforce development.

Monday, January 10, 2022- In-depth business plans.

Monday, February 14, 2022 – Mentors, Marketing, Resources, Hiring the right employees, & Training staff

Monday, March 14, 2022 – Succession Planning, Self-Investment, Market overview and portfolio explanation

Monday, April 11, 2022- Practice pitch, expo design/set-up plan review, business plan review, collateral material review plus a pep talk about presentation, pointers, clothing, business etiquette refresher, etc.

Tuesday, April 19, 2022– EXPO, Pitch Competition & Awards - 2 $1,500.00 pitch prizes and $500.00 Peoples Choice Award.

Awards presented at City Council Meeting.
