Mark Tuesday, June 21st on your calendar as Monroeville Main Street (MMS) will host its Second Annual Farm to Table Dinner at the Shop at 66. Harrigan Lumber Company is once again the title sponsor and the event will feature a menu with seasonal offerings, live music, a live art auction and more. Proceeds from the dinner will be used to support the MMS program mission plus numerous downtown programs and events including, B.U.O.Y. – a young entrepreneur program, the Small Box Shop – an entrepreneurial launchpad, the Monroe Council for the Arts, Second Saturdays on the Square (April – October), the Paint the Town Paint Out (March), and a seasonal Pop-Up Art Gallery (March-May).
Monroeville Main Street board Vice President and event chairman Debbi Jinright said “This annual fundraising event makes it possible for Monroeville Main Street to continue funding our downtown projects, activities, and events.”
Monroeville Main Street is utilizing district businesses for the event. Hunters Run will be cooking and serving dinner featuring local produce with Mrs. Teresa’s Homemade Treats preparing the desserts highlighting local fruits and nuts. Music will be provided by Acoustic Cook-Off, with Monroe County musician Jamie Cook on guitar and Kevin Newell on fiddle. JWJ Investment Properties is sponsoring the Live Art Auction which will highlight works by local artists plus additional pieces by Alabama Plein Air artists who visited during the 2022 Paint the Town Paint Out.
“We are fortunate to contract with our Main Street businesses and members for the vast majority of the diverse array of goods and services needed to make this event successful” stated Monroeville Main Street Executive Director Anne Marie Bryan. “The appetizer/charcuterie table will feature some of the fabulous food products available from Emmett’s House, The Bird’s Nest, Cobbwebs, and Darby’s Red & White; downtown restaurants are preparing our meal & desserts; our event set-ups are from Martins Rentals; Downtown Package is handling our bar deliveries; we’ve ordered customized cups and huggers from Southern Advertising; decorations will feature local flowers grown from seeds purchased at Southern Farm Supply along with cutting boards from Doug Moorer Trophies and Plaques. Raising money for projects in the district while supporting our local business is a WIN/WIN!”
